25th June is the International Day of the Seafarer (for all people who work in the maritime industry, which includes shipping, fishing, and other maritime activities).
Sea Sunday is celebrated by many Christian churches around the 2nd Sunday of July each year.
Merchant Navy Day is commemorated on 3rd September each year – the anniversary of the first Allied merchant ship being sunk during World War II.
